Susan Smith, yoga teacher, spiritual guide and author of “The Power of Yoga” is a dedicated yoga practitioner. With over 30 years of education and experience in health, wellness, yoga, mindfulness and spiritual awakening she developed teacher training and immersion programs founded through her multi-disciplinary studies. Susan founded One-Yoga, a holistic health and wellness institute dedicated to improving the quality of life by sharing the deep personal work and practical approach of yogic principles and practice. Her approach to yoga is founded in the Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga and Vedanta philosophy. Susan is considered the “teacher of teachers” and shares her vision, passion, and practicality with students worldwide. She has had the privilege of studying with many knowledgeable teachers; she honors each one and their contributions to her teaching. Susan holds a MSM in Health Care, MYI & ERYT in Yoga Instruction, and MRT in Usui Reiki.

Living Present: How Yoga Works

One Yoga’s 200 Hour Yoga Training Certification Program

5 Classes – 5 Locations

We teach the transformational process of yoga. It’s what we do!

Learn to live present in each moment and find peace and purpose; learn what it means to live yoga every day; learn the practices that clear and cleanse the physical, mental and spiritual bodies; and learn all the tools to help you live your best life! Upon completion of the course requirements, students will receive Yoga Alliance Certification. This unique, comprehensive program includes a kick-off workshop, 26 classroom sessions that meet weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly as weekend immersions, and a fabulous final weekend retreat.

These classes are taught in small group settings at various times and locations to meet your scheduling needs. Should quarantine be reinstated, we are prepared. All course content will be taught through “live interactive online classes and our new E-Learning System or the option to pause your YTT is available so your time and investment are safe.

One Yoga’s mission is to teach the profound and life-changing practices of Yoga, Mindfulness and Ayurveda to help each soul on its personal journey. There are six 200 Hour YTT courses to choose from.

Training begins with a kick-off session September 26, 2020 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Clayton Hall, University of Delaware. This is a fabulous day of community, learning and connection. Please bring your walking shoes as we will enjoy some time outside in nature. Clayton Hall address: 100 David Hollowell Drive, Newark, DE

Each class includes asana, pranayama, meditation, lecture, discussion, sharing, experiential learning, practicum and practices for living yoga. The classes follow the school calendar so national holidays are recognized as time off.

(26) Tuesdays: 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Wilmington, DE

(26) Wednesdays: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Greenville, DE

(13) Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Chadds Ford, PA

(6) Weekend Immersions: Dover, DE

The training includes a weekend rebirthing retreat April 23-25, 2020 at the beautiful Capital Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA. It is the perfect way to conclude our journey work and includes delightful nourishing meals and comfortable accommodations. It’s all included in the tuition. 

The Capital Retreat Center is nestled between serene lakes and surrounded by the Appalachian Trail; it is a unique and welcoming first-class facility on a 270 acre campus in the stunning Catoctin Mountains of Pennsylvania.

  • Should you enroll in a class and your schedule changes, you are able to switch classes. And should you have to miss a class due to unforeseen circumstances, make-up classes are available.
  • Should we be required to quarantine again, you can put a pause on your YTT training and payments, and resume the following year.

Yoga Training Techniques and Practice: In-depth study of the postures, purpose, benefits, modifications and class sequencing. Techniques include: Hatha, Vinyasa, Therapeutic Yoga, including Chair / Limited Mobility practices. You will learn about creating safe space, the class container, its structure, symbolism, meaning, and designing classes for specific populations. Meditation, breathing and MBSR techniques are taught weekly to provide each student the opportunity to experience and learn the benefits of practice.

Anatomy and Physiology: Basics of anatomy, muscular skeletal systems, connective tissue, the nervous system, and interrelated issues of injury and imbalance. Principles of Functional Movement and the kinetic chain.

Teaching Methodology: Is grounded in: (1) the belief that we as yoga teachers represent living examples of the principles and practice of yoga; (2) we offer verbal, directive, energetic, or hands-on loving healing touch to help each student with their practice; and (3) we facilitate reintegration of the mind-body-spirit connection through universal truths.

Philosophy and Spiritual Connection: Rooted in classical tradition (The Eight-Limbed Path, Ayurveda and Vedanta), understanding the chakras, spiritual anatomy, energy and pranayama practices.

Practicum: Practice teaching and learning the art of hands-on adjustments, observation and assists.

Integrating Yoga and Ayurveda: Ayurveda restores balance of bodily systems using diet, herbal treatment, Dinacharya practices and yogic breathing for remedial health.

The personal practice of living yoga on and off the mat.

The business of yoga, yoga therapy and applications.

Registration Information:


Program Tuition: $2,950

Pay In Full Tuition: $2,785 (Save $165 when you pay in full. Only available for a single payment in full at check-out.)

A non-refundable deposit of $500 (required to hold your space), Plus  (7) monthly payments of $350.

Payments will be deducted from the credit card on file at the end of each month beginning in September.
